And were back….we have been working and celebrating while we have been away! First off it was the hubs bday (on the 11th) so I had a few things up my sleeve for the bday festivites. We also babysat a little munchkin one evening (pictures below), attended a fun Valentine’s Day Hockey Game and- oh ya worked on the house!! We also picked up a few new things which we are pretty excited about. And now for my favorite part……one of my favorite projects of all time is finished…and im so excited to show you!!! The hubs has been working so hard on this and I think it turned out fabulous!!!! Enjoy the photos…..so without further adu….(click to enlarge photos!)

Well…Santa is gone, the ball has dropped, and New Year resolutions are in full swing. Of course on the list is to work out more (blah blah) and get this house in shape as well. We still have some really GREAT projects in store so you just wait!!! One of my FAVORITE projects is happening right now….but i’m not going to show you pictures until its finished so STAY TUNED :)

Apparently its a year of lighting for the Edwards! Got some new much needed lighting installed!! Also decided to rip out a book shelf…and well found a leak in the wall..and well had to rip out the drywall in the family which was soooo convenient….(that’s sass) but good thing the hubs knows what to do. (see photos below

As you may recall…we had the house stucco-ed a little while back but because its very pricey we only did the downstairs portion…so with a new year brought new stucco! Yep we got the upstairs finished off and got new stucco on the entire house! Its finally finished and i feel sooo much better. The ugly siding is now gone and it looks like a new house. Now we just have to wait for it to “really” dry then painting the house AGAIN we go..but at least this time around…its cooler out.

Speaking of…its been chilly…real chilly. I dont care what you say 33 degrees is cold…so cold our fountain in our front yard FROZE! (See photo below)

So 2 days and its CHRISTMAS!! I should be wrapping presents but well i’m not! So I thought we would share some fabulous photos of our lovely trip to see Grandma!! Yes we went to Tulsa Oklahoma and saw Grandma and the Toe Tappers perform LIVE on Stage!! I believe this is her 5th year performing so its pretty impressive! Yes thats right my grandmother is a tap dancer and even goes on tour!! The hubs was able to video the whole event so if your lucky you will get to see her in action!!!!!! We had a great time in cold Oklahoma!!! Well done Grandma!! Enjoy the photos…..Merry Christmas to everyone, we hope you were good this year!!!

Turkey Day in NYC!

So as you all know we headed North to New York City for Turkey Day! It was fabulous…we saw the parade got front row standing view in the 37 degree weather. So we got up around 4am…yep 4am…and headed outside to mark our spot and waited until the parade started at 9am. We also ice skated in Rockefeller Center which was awesome….we took a helicopter ride…I surprised the hubs with a birds view of the city…. and stayed in a condo right by Macys rather than a hotel to really feel like a “New Yorker.” It was a great time, and we highly suggest going if you have the chance…maybe rent a place right on the route for warm/viewing pleasure!

Now its time to get the house ready for the Fat Man. Christmas overhaul in the Edwards house is in full swing……Enjoy. (You can click on the photos to view them larger!)

Trick or Treat!!!

So Halloween came and went…..and can you believe it, in a short time the big fat man will be coming down the chimney!?!?!?! Well in true Edwards style we passed out candy to the 5 neighborhood kiddos- note to self NO need to buy 2 bags of candy- a snack size should do just fine for next year, AND….dont buy the pumpkins too early as they rot…but we managed!!! And thanks to the Mr. we were “those people” that put that stupid halloween crap in the yard yep…..that was us! Embarrassing! Anyway the Mr. has been sick for a little while so we have been laying low….none the less we participated, rotted children’s teeth, and had a good time! Hope you enjoy our few snapshots of the week! So its OCTOBER already can you believe in the insanity? So that means…pumpkins everywhere, Dad’s birthday on FRIDAY! (he’s going to kill me), stupid junk in peoples yard that decorate for Halloween and then the big bird next month (NYC Macy’s Day Parade for Dave and I) and then yes…. SANTA…

So a lot has gone on since we have posted. An ATL wedding (Dave sang and was a groomsmen), Baby was born (not ours), found a new way to exercise ( I challenge you to it) , ER visit (Ashley- stupid kidney stones), painting class (Ashley’s First time), Bucs home game (Front row tickets) , Baltimore (A Show for work) and…..a day on the Boat. It did not happen in that order…..Im tired just talking about it. So the home projects have been on hold and probably will stay that way until Santa leaves…so its like a little vacation for us but you never know we may surprise you. Labor Day Weekend!

Hi again…while some of us did some “labor” for example my husband labored all labor day weekend some of us were playing My husband got so many things done this weekend I had to share! Yes while he was working yes I was the one playing…so I had a girls weekend in NYC. It’s a trip we have been doing for years. My girlfriends from college all get together and go shopping in NYC for the weekend. This year was a little different because it ended up being just 2 of us this year as the others could not come because of babies and husbands so we were the only ”2 soul survivors.”

We had a great time and it was long over due as we havent been able to plan a trip for 3 years now!!! And probably the most exciting news of it all..we got on TV! Exciting I know…or at least we were excited. We went to a taping of the Nate Berkus Show. He was adorable and so fun. The show was all about couponing (right up my alley) and easy CHEAP ways to throw a party and spruce up the home! Seriously it was meant for me! The show will not air until end of sept sometime but we were excited to be front row…then at the last-minute the “guest of the show” came and we were moved to the 3rd row but we still ended up with GREAT seats. And some sad news to report my sweet Grandpa (my mothers father) passed away on Sat. He had a stroke about a week ago and his body could not handle it any longer. The good news is he is rejoicing in heaven with his Creator and my sweet Grandmother who passed away almost 20 years ago of cancer. He will be missed but we know hes in a much better place!

Sweet Summer Time….

It’s summer and well it’s actually not that sweet because its hotter than you know what… but you get the idea!

So do you like the new blog…we just changed it up a little gave it a face lift and who knows it might look different next time you come back you just never know :) A couple of things we added here, you will see on the right hand side an area called Blogroll there you will see some company’s that we suggest! Moving on… so as mentioned before we are taking a short hiatus from the home improvement projects to catch our breath and fill the piggie bank back up but we have been doing a few things. Anyway I have a baby shower that im throwing for a friend at our home this weekend so im hoping for a good turnout and excited to see what all they get!

We have added a few new things around the house, mom and dad had another wedding on their property…it was actually the neighbors but it was fun this time to just watch and see how pretty the tent on the beach is! I went to see a friend of mine who just had a baby recently that was born 3 lbs and she is now a healthy and happy 11lbs so it was great to see the progress. Of course Dave and I have managed to put the boat in the water a few weekends…and its been very HOT but beautiful, perfect time to be in the water!

Its been a YEAR!!!

Its hot!!! And you know what that means? It’s officially a year since we have been the proud homeowners of Meadow Hill Drive!!!! A lot of great things have happened in this past year and we are grateful! Of course as last posted we have decided to take a break on the pocket book and relax a little around the house! WE HAVE BEEN WORKING, just not huge improvements. Dave has fixed his car, the lawn mower, the sprinklers and some other things around the house as well. We had mama’s birthday this weekend which we celebrated and had a good time, Bentley was very sweet to wish her a happy birthday as well (ali didnt want to participate.) Bentley also had a play date with my friend that got a boxer not to long ago named Chewie. He is 9months old and lots of energy i thought bentley was going to have a heart attack so we have to take these play dates in stages!

Im having a baby shower for a good friend at the house Aug 13th so i decided to be crafty and make my own invites! I did several different types, i have some other fun ideas for the shower so i’ll be sure to post those photos later. Then finally we got a chance to take out the boat and had a good beach day. It was good weather a little cloudy but just enough to get sun burned! We ended up on our own little island then headed back home just in time for the lighting storm to hit. All in all its been a good couple of weeks and we just wanted to share the updates. Until next time……(click photo to enlarge them)
